POLICE divers have this afternoon found a pair of scissors in a Gold Coast lake following an attack in which a teenage boy had his earlobe cut off,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Police are still hunting the man who allegedly held two teenage boys at gunpoint for more than half an hour on a jetty last night before grabbing one of the boys and cutting his earlobe off with a pair of scissors,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
The teens ordeal started around 10.30pm last night when the 15-year-old Varsity Lakes boy and 16-year-old Surfers Paradise boy were walking along Varsity Parade after catching a bus to the 15-year-old home,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
They were walking from the bus stop at Bond University to the house and planned to stop off at a Night Owl convenience store on the way but before they reached the store they were approached by a man, police said.
has struck up a conversation with the juveniles and has in some manner intimidated them into going to a nearby alleyway, Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson said.
While in the alleyway the offender allegedly demanded money and then led them down to a jetty,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"There has been further intimidation and at some point he has produced a firearm,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which has been described at this stage as a black handgun,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Detective Superintendent Hutchinson said.
"At a point after that he has grabbed hold of the left ear of one of the victim and using a pair of scissors has severed about half of his earlobe,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. />
Police believe the scissors and the earlobe were thrown into the canal along with some of the boys belongings,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
It is believed the boys were on the jetty for about half an hour,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Detective Superintendent Hutchinson said the offender fled with one of boys mobile phone,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], jewellery and a wallet containing cash.
He said full details were not yet known of the terrifying ordeal but the teens were today being interviewed by police.
"The full story will come out at some stage, he said.
He said the boys did not know the alleged offender,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who was described as being Pacific Islander in appearance,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], solid to heavy build,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], around 188cm tall and short,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], black hair.
