Joe Oliver: Canada 'working hard' to get energy market investors ,Christian Louboutin shoes outlet
BEIJING, Oct. 21 () -- Canada is "working hard" to attract investors to an energy market dependent almost entirely on the United States, Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver said.Oliver, wrapping up a tour of Asian countries last week, said in a statement in Beijing Canada is situated to become a major player in the regional and international energy markets.Canada's energy sector is growing at the same time that demands from Asian economies are increasing, Oliver said."Our government is working hard internationally and at home to reach new markets for our natural resources," he said Friday. "Canada is competing to meet our strategic imperative of diversifying our energy markets and strengthening our position as a global competitive exporter."The Canadian government is supporting the development of oil and gas facilities on the western coast to facilitate exports overseas. The United States is using more of its own oil and natural gas because of production gains for shale-rich states like North Dakota and Texas. That's creating stress on a Canadian economy that relies almost entirely on the United States for exports of oil and natural gas.
